May 26, 2006, Newsletter Issue #10: 60GB Hard Drive Coming Bundled on PS3

Tip of the Week

Want a new gaming computer? You might wait for the imminent release of the Sony Playstation 3. While Microsoft still calls its XBox 360 a gaming console, Sony admits the Playstation 3 is going to be a fully functional computer, complete with a 60GB hard drive running Linux. There had been some question until recently as to whether Sony would bundle the hard drive with the PS3, or make it an accessory, like the XBox. With the inclusion of the drive, PS3 game developers will now be able to plan games knowing that there's going to be 60GB of space available on the PS3. This could be a big advantage in the expected game wars between the two gaming warhorses.
