Secure digital memory cards have taken the lead in the digital memory card market from compact flash, offering nearly as much capacity in a smaller package. Mini/micro-SD cards, also known as transflash cards, have improved on the SD model, offering nearly the same functionality and capacity in a much smaller and more convenient package. And with cell phones, smaller is always better.
