Is an Internal Drive More Secure? Maybe

There are differing opinions about the relative security of internal hard drives vs. external hard drives. On one side are those who think internal hard drives are less secure because the data is available to anyone who accesses the computer, as well as any spyware or viruses that enter the main PC through the Internet. On the other side are those who think internal hard drives are more secure because the hard drive is internal. It's pretty easy to pick up an external hard drive, unplug it, and walk away with it.

Bottom line: Are internal hard drives more or less secure than external drives? Yes and no. It depends on who you talk to.
